Where it all Began

Shop Fruitful Co. started in the tiniest corner of my college dorm room about three years ago — right after one of those “okay, I’ve had enough” moments. You know the kind — when you’ve tried on outfit after outfit at the mall, and everything feels either way too revealing or way too covered up. I just couldn’t find that happy middle ground between trendy and modest. Nothing felt like me.

So I decided to create something that did — a brand that celebrates modesty and style, for girls who want to feel confident, beautiful, and true to themselves.

I had this feeling deep down that I couldn’t be the only one struggling with this, and I truly believe God placed this dream on my heart for a reason.
It started small — like, “boxes-under-the-dorm-bed” small. I’d skip a class or two just to pack and ship the handful of orders that came in (five in a good week!), all while praying that if this dream was in His plan, He’d open the right doors.

Fast forward to now... and somehow, by God’s grace, there are over 200,000 of us in this community! Girls from all over the world coming together to live out their faith and show that dressing modestly doesn’t have to be complicated or boring — it can be beautiful.

About Katie & Her Testimony

A lot of people assume I grew up Christian, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I actually used to be an atheist. Yep, the girl who now owns a Christian boutique once didn’t believe in God at all (crazy, right?!).

Without diving too deep, high school was a really difficult time for me. I was bullied and harassed to the point where I constantly felt unsafe. I longed for a fresh start - somewhere I could belong - and dreamed of transferring to a private school. But at the time, my family just couldn’t afford it.

Out of nowhere, my mom got a job offer that completely changed everything. One that covered the cost of tuition. I didn’t realize it then, but looking back, that was God placing His hand over my life, even before I believed in Him.

I’ll never forget the moment I read Genesis 50:20 for the first time:

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

That verse hit me like a wave. It was in that moment I realized that everything I had been through - all the pain, all the confusion - it had a purpose. God had been writing my story the whole time, even when I couldn’t see it.

Today I see how He used those hard seasons to shape me into the person younger Katie needed. He gave me a heart for helping others feel seen, loved, and confident in who He created them to be.

My prayer is that Shop Fruitful Co. is more than just a clothing brand to you. I hope it’s a reminder to:

Keep going when life feels heavy, to show kindness even when it’s hard, and to trust that God can turn your pain into purpose.

If you take anything from my story, let it be this: inviting God into your life doesn’t have to be complicated. It can start with just one simple prayer, one moment of surrender, and from there, you’ll be amazed at how beautifully He can transform your life. 🤍

I cannot say enough about Katie and Shop Fruitful Co.! Every single piece I’ve ordered has been such amazing quality and SO adorable. Katie truly goes above and beyond...including writing the sweetest notes with every order, which makes each package feel so personal. On top of that, this summer, she gave me the option to pick up my items IN PERSON while I was on vacation to make sure I got my clothes in time for my trip!!! What a blessing it was to meet her. Her mission is to clothe young women in modest and beautiful pieces as well as encourage them to follow Jesus!
